Cheadle Hulme School is celebrating after its students accomplished another year of excellent A Level results.
Maya Siriwardena secured her place at St John’s College, Oxford to read Experimental Psychology after achieving 3 A*s in Biology, Maths and Psychology; joining her at Oxford is Joe Murphy who achieved 2 A*s in Maths and Politics and A in Spanish to secure his place to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Lady Margaret Hall.
A number of students achieved a full set of A*s, including Lizzy Wasson who will go on to study Medicine at Bristol University. Lizzie commented, “I’m so thrilled. It’s such a big relief after the long wait - I’m ecstatic”. A single A* split twins Daisy and Ella Petrie who achieved a further 5 A grades enabling them to pursue their ambitions to read Politics with International Studies and Maths respectively. Students have been highly successful in achieving their places on the most demanding courses across the Russell Group, including the universities of Durham, Bath, Exeter and Warwick. Courses range from Natural Sciences, Maths, Physics and Chemistry through to History, Politics, Economics and Law. Universities closer to home including Manchester and Sheffield continue to be very popular with the students.
The highly successful Independent School has established a strong reputation in recent years for Mathematics and this year was no exception with 55% A*-A in the subject. Four students achieved A*s in both Maths and Further Maths.
Head Lucy Pearson commented “It is always a pleasure to see our students do so well. A Level success is the result of a blend of exceptional teaching and learning and I congratulate all our students and staff for their hard work and dedication”.
With nearly 80% of all grades being A*-B, it has been another successful year at Cheadle Hulme School.
