Artist in Residence
Artistic academics have broadened their creative horizons after a two week residency at CHS by artist and printmaker, Lisa Moore.
Lisa ran printmaking workshops with GCSE and A Level Art students, introducing them to new methods, such as collagraph printing and solar plate etching, and exploring ways in which printmaking can be applied to the textiles, ceramics and fine art disciplines.
Lisa was impressed with the students’ response to the new ways of working, saying: “They have all done fantastically well, picking up in just two hours what would normally take two whole days to teach!”
The Artist in Residence programme was made possible through funding from the CHS Parents’ Association and donations from Old Waconians, parents and supporters to the School’s Waconian Fund.
Lisa, who co-founded the Neo:Artists galleries and workspaces in Bolton, was asked to be a part of the programme based on the excellent quality of her own work and her ability to offer something new to the students, which they wouldn’t normally have had the opportunity to study.
