Charities in the House
Each of the four CHS Houses invited the charities they raise money for into School to present their donations so far this year, during Philanthropy Week.
Representatives from each charity visited the School to collect their cheques during House assemblies and to inform students about the work their money will go towards funding.
The charities also attended stalls outside the School’s Dining Hall during lunchtimes, raising more money through cake and chocolate sales and speaking to students about their fundraising efforts.
Each House at CHS selects a local and a national charity, for which their fundraising totals are donated to throughout the year, from events such as the Charity Hike and the annual Readathon. During 2013-13, Allen House are collecting for The Rowley Project and The Christie, Clarke House are collecting for Wheelies and When You Wish Upon a Star, Marsh House are collecting for Francis House and the British Skin Foundation and Whitehead House are collecting for East Cheshire Hospice and Akamba Children’s Educational Fund.
