Charity Gala Dinner
Over 100 students, parents and staff enjoyed a delightful evening of dining, entertainment and fundraising at the Charity Gala Dinner, the finale of Philanthropy Week.
The Dinner was organised by students on the School’s Charity Committee. From designing and producing posters through to welcoming guests on the night, the students ensured that the special event, marking the end of a week celebrating giving in all its forms, went without hitch.
As well as a delicious three-course meal, cooked and served by School caterers, Sodexo, diners were treated to table magic and entertainment from the CHS A Cappella group and a string quartet led by Mrs Brigid Rawling, alongside a performance by Old Waconian, Daisy Willock (Class of 2012) who dazzled the audience with a selection of popular favourites.
The climax of the night was a raffle, with had the grand prize of a pair of tickets to see Robbie Williams in concert. The prize went to an extremely delighted Mrs Ros Leonard and the raffle went a long way to increasing the funds raised.
Proceeds from the evening will be donated to four charitable funds selected by the Committee; India Direct, Akamba Children's Education Fund, a Gambian school charity and the CHS Bursary Fund.
