CHS played host to a group of local and national charities for a lunchtime Charity Exhibition, organised to kick-start the School’s first ever Philanthropy Week.
The Together Trust, Seashell Trust, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Christie charities travelled locally to attend the Exhibition, whilst the Royal British Legion and the British Red Cross gave a national representation at what was an informative afternoon for CHS students.
The cross-section of charities in attendance, which raise money for a wide range of causes, gave out information to help raise awareness of their work and to demonstrate what the funds they raise go towards.
Development Manager, Philippa Dunford said: “We wanted to give students the opportunity to experience the variety of charitable work which is done on their doorstep, as well as further afield. We are grateful for all the charities who attended, who do a huge amount of worthwhile fundraising in our local community.”
Philanthropy Week celebrates the spirit of giving in all its forms and aims to inspire students and staff through a variety of activities and events.
