It was lucky number seven for Junior School athletes whose collection of golds contributed to a total of 11 medals scooped at the Association of Junior Independent Schools (AJIS) Indoor Athletics Competition.
With seven gold, two silver and three bronze medals, the team made some outstanding individual achievements and dominated the podium throughout the day.
Golds were achieved in the Veritcal Jump, Balance, Speed Bounce, Paarlauf Relay, One-Lap and Two Laps competitions by Holly Seddon, Zach Dutton, Sam Murphy, Finn Bradley, Miles Houlden, Grace Houghton and Rosie Calton.
Further medals were won by Alex Murray, Lizzy Pollitt and Lottie Gower.
Star of the day was Miles Houlden, who picked up two golds and a silver in individual and team events.
The annual meet took place in March at the Robin Park Arena, in Wigan, and is one of the most prestigious sporting events on the Junior School calendar.
Sports Coach, Miss Steph Chatwin said: “We had been training since September for this event and we were so proud to see how the pupils’ hard work and commitment paid off and resulted in some outstanding results; one of most successful set of results in this competition!
“Congratulations to everyone who took part.”
