Infants Step into the Past
Year 1 pupils took a trip back in time on their visit to Staircase House, learning how we lived in times gone by.
As part of their current History topic, the infant classes enjoyed a tour of the historic landmark and took part in hands-on workshops, including trying their hand at weaving.
Staircase House is a Grade II* listed medieval building, famous for its rare Jacobean cage-newel staircase, and was brought back to life after a devastating fire in 1995.
On the trip, pupils were given a unique glimpse into the life of medieval and renaissance Stockport and gained a fascinating insight into how people once lived their daily lives.
