Infants in the Wild
Year 1 pupils went up close and personal with pole cats, foxes, owls and otters at the Chestnut Centre Conservation and Wildlife Park.
On their visit, pupils encountered a huge herd of dear and some comical swimming otters before having the chance to hold some giant deer antlers in a show and tell session in the classroom.
Teacher, Miss Nicky Buckley said: “This was the first trip of the year for Year 1.  All the pupils found it fascinating and, although everyone was very tired by the end of the day, they were a pleasure to accompany.”
Set in 50 acres of the Derbyshire Peak District, the Centre is home to a unique collection animals, including many wild birds and mammals.
