Year 6 pupils secured a haul of medals in the recent UK Mathematics Trust Junior Maths Challenge, winning 1 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals in a competition normally aimed at students in Years 7 and 8.
Gold winner, Andrew Cowell made a remarkable achievement, being placed in the top 6% of the 250,000 pupils across the UK who took part in the competition. His win earned him a place in the prestigious Junior Kangaroo competition, against the greatest young maths minds in the country.
Other wins included silvers for Jack Crawford, Sam Murphy, Theo Kypriadis and Elizabeth Pollitt and bronze certificates for Esme Brown, Charlie Romer, Angus Dickson, Matthew Jackson and Sulaiman Malik.
The UK Mathematics Trust is a registered charity whose aim is to advance the education of children and young people in mathematics.
