Altruistic Readers Raise Over £3500 For Charity

Altruistic readers at CHS have created a story of their own after raising over £3500 as part of this year’s sponsored reading event, Readathon 2017.

The students in Year 7 and Year 8 were challenged to read as many books as they could over a week to raise money for children’s cancer research and care.

The winning Forms from each year group who raised the most money collectively were 7R, £436.00 and 8H, £252.00 – both received a box of chocolates to share as a prize.

The top 10 students who raised the most money individually were also presented with a certificate and book token.

Congratulations to Year 8 student Tom Headridge, and Year 7 winners Jake Caswell, Tom Greening, Alyssa Kouyate, Lucas Cleary, Charlotte Freeman, Evie Curran, Aneeka Rahman, Imogen Frazer, Ellen Skelton.

All the money raised will be shared equally between CLIC Sargent, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s CharityTogether for Short Lives and Readathon's Readwell charity.
