Charity Fun Day was a hit

The Junior School have had a fantastic day raising money for charity.

Infant and Junior School pupils came to school dressed for the theme ‘Music’. We saw some amazing costumes from mini ABBA members to Phantom of the Opera.

The charities the Junior School fundraised for are NSPCC, Bliss and Seashell Trust.

Mrs Sargent said: “What a great day! The children (and staff!) made great efforts to dress up for the musical theme; everyone joined in belting out favourite songs to keep the Singathon going all morning; we gorged on cakes; we had great fun trying out the Juniors’ activities in the afternoon – and we have raised over £3000 towards three great charities with sponsor money still to come in! Well done to everyone in the Junior School.”

It has been a day full of fun and laughter. Jessica in Year 2 said: “I love to sing and in the morning we had a fun musical time. The activities in the afternoon have been challenging but I've won sweets, sweets and sweets!”

Megan in Year 4 said: “The singing was fun, I liked to listen and dance to a rap by one of the teachers. Our game this afternoon is apple bobbing.  Some pupils managed to get three apples!”
