Junior Councillors talk transition and “embrace change”

"Embrace change.” That was the theme of an assembly presented by members of the Junior School Council after they met with a group of former CHS Juniors and current Year 7s to discuss moving up through the School.

Talking to their fellow pupils, the Junior representatives - plus Infant members of the Council – spoke of their pizza lunch meeting with the students from Year 7 and discussion about was like for them when they moved through the Junior School.

They also shared the expectations and hopes felt by the current Year 7s who recently underwent the big change of joining CHS’s Senior School in September.

CHS Junior School Deputy Head, Mr Malcolm Johnson said: “There is always excitement when pupils find out what class they will be in next academic year but there also can be some apprehension so meeting the Year 7s was invaluable for the Junior pupils. Well done to all our School Councillors for a fantastic assembly and a big thank you to all the Year 7 pupils who came along to help advise.”
