North West FutureChef
Year 10, Eleanor’s “party on a plate” earned her culinary recognition when she became one of the top eight young chefs in the North West at the Springboard FutureChef 2015 Competition.
 
Eleanor reached the North West Final of the national competition following success at the South Manchester Heat in January, with her meal of stuffed Portobello mushrooms and a peach and blueberry crumble.
 
In the regional Final she came head-to-head with other budding gastronomes at The Manchester College, where her main course was described by the judges as “a party on a plate!”
 
Head of Food & Nutrition, Mrs Rachel Dalton Woods said: “Even though she didn’t win, she did extremely well and showed off her culinary skills very effectively.”
