Philanthropic Fun in the Junior School
Active and altruistic Junior School pupils were called to action during a week of fundraising, taking part in a sponsored biathlon and Disney-themed fancy dress day, so far raising over £5,000.
Destination Florida, DEC Ebola Appeal and The Seashell Trust were the three charities selected by the Junior School Council for this year’s annual fundraiser.
Juniors ran and swam their way to the impressive total in a sponsored biathlon, whilst Infants took part in a sponsored swim to help add to the funds raised.
Pupils also organised a cake sale and an afternoon of games and fun activities which saw everyone in the Junior School participate whilst donning costumes from their favourite Disney story.
Junior School Charity Co-ordinatior, Mrs Kate Sargent said: “The annual Charity Day in the Junior School is organised wholly by the pupils, giving them valuable experience in planning, organisational and teamwork skills, as well as raising awareness of people less fortunate than themselves across the world.
“We are delighted with the huge amount raised by the pupils so far and still have sponsorship money being handed in.”
