Record Results for Star Performers
Dramatic talents are in the spotlight as students have achieved record results in their London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art performance examinations.
This summer, 35 budding thespians from the Junior and Senior School achieved Distinctions in their LAMDA examinations, an internationally recognised symbol of theatrical ability, with a further two awarded Merits.
Teacher, Mrs Cathy Bates was thrilled with the students’ success: “This is a phenomenal set of results. In all the work I have done in other schools in the area, I have never known so many Distinctions to be awarded to so many students at once. It is a credit to their exceptional abilities and talents.”
Further success was gained by Year 11 student Bethan Davis, who picked up the School’s first ever LAMDA Silver medal and Rachel Milner, in Year 10, who achieved Bronze.
Head of the Junior School, Mrs Barbara Bottoms said: “All the students have done remarkably and it all bodes very well for our upcoming CHS productions!”
LAMDA examinations in communication and performance have been awarded since the late 1800s and are studied by thousands students of all ages across the UK each year.
