Safer Internet Week at Cheadle Hulme School
To mark national Safer Internet Day in the UK on Tuesday 11th February, students and staff at CHS are taking part in a week-long programme of events and activities.
Students will be leading the way as Peer Mentors in the Sixth Form meet with Year 7 students to discuss safer internet strategies and the pitfalls of some social media channels. The Student Council will also deliver an assembly to Year 9 students, advising on how to stay safe online and protect personal data.
Mrs Louise Hayes, Head of ICT said: “Safer Internet Day and our week of activities will help raise awareness of the common challenges faced by young, digital natives today. It’s great to see our students taking a lead role and share their own experiences and knowledge of online safety with their peers.”
Safer Internet Day is organised in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre in February of each year to promote the safe and responsible use of online technology and mobile phones for children and young people.
