Strings Day with Francis Cummings
Eminent violinist, Francis Cummings brought a worldwide experience of performance at the highest level to CHS, delivering a day-long workshop to musicians from the Junior and Senior Schools.
Francis, founder member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, spent a full day with the School’s strings players, studying technique and working through orchestral pieces.
The day culminated in an informal performance for parents, with Junior, Senior and Sixth Form students joining together to put their new skills into practise for the finale.
Francis has worked extensively with renowned conductors and soloists across the globe and performed with a number of UK orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and the Hallé.
