Swinging for England
Star golfer, Bel has been selected to represent England Golf at national level at just 15 years old.
Bel’s selection came following her hard work in the North West U16 Squad and some impressive results gained over the previous season. She will be playing for her country at the Scottish Girls’ U16 Championship at Strathmore in April.
No stranger to success on the golf course, Bel was both the Cheshire Girls U16 and U18 Champion in 2014, finished runner-up in the Cheshire Ladies Championship in Wilmslow and was made Cheshire Junior Captain for the 2015 season.
She was the first lady to win her County Colours for Cheshire in a single week at County Match Week, playing against Lancashire, Yorkshire, Northumberland, Cumbria and Durham; she remained unbeaten during the entire week, winning seven matches and halving two.
Bel’s father, Paul said of her success: “Bel has been working extremely hard over the Winter months, both on her own and with the North West England Regional Squad, and has been focussed especially on her fitness, doing two targeted fitness sessions a week after school on top of regular daily practice.
“You can imagine how excited she is at being recognised for her performances last Summer and the hard work she has put into her training.”
