Three Lions for a Sporting Scholar
Cheadle Hulme School Hockey ace, Jenni Park has gained national recognition, earning selection for the England Hockey U16 National Age Group Squad (NAGS).
The Year 10 student and Honorary Sports Scholar netted her place on the U16 Squad a year earlier than normal, at just 14 years-old.
Jenni adds to her growing list of accolades across the boundaries of the sports pitches; in addition to her contribution to the School’s First XI Hockey Team, this time last year Jenni also attended the U15 England Football Training Camp at St. Georges Park.
Selection for NAGS is the highest honour that junior hockey players can attain. Jenni will take part in training sessions, camps and competitions, and receive high performance coaching. She has also been selected to play against Holland in Loosdrecht at the beginning of April.
Top-class sport appears to run in Jenni’s family as her sister, Upper Sixth student Georgie, also represented her country on the hockey pitch in the Sainsbury’s School Games, in Manchester last year.
Jenni’s Mum, Mrs Judy Park said of the latest Park family success: “As you can imagine we are all excited and very proud!”
