A Viking for a Day
Year 3 pupils experienced life as a Viking on a residential trip to York.
From making bread the Viking way to collecting their own firewood and taking turn on guard duty, pupils embraced the day, managing to prevent an Anglo-Saxon invasion!
Lunch was eaten Viking-style, with song and jokes in the Great Hall of Murton Park and teachers played their part as slaves for the day, including Head, Lucy Pearson who joined in the fun.
The group then took up the roles of archaeologists on a visit to the Jorvik DIG centre, picking up more knowledge of times past as part of their topic on Invaders and Settlers.
Class Teacher, Mrs Julia Brown said: “The children had an amazing experience and produced some excellent art and written work back at School. They have many happy memories of the trip!”
