Infant & Junior Arts
Creative subjects are allocated a healthy portion of the week’s timetable. Music, Drama, Art and Design are mostly taught by specialist teachers or those with a particular passion in that area.
The wide-ranging experiences gained from these subjects give balance and allow children to recognise their own and each other’s strengths. Within these subjects there are great opportunities for collaborative work in addition to developing individual excellence.
Throughout the Infant and Junior School all children have one music lesson per week. This provides the opportunity for performing, composing and listening and often feeds into the year group assemblies and performances.
Performance opportunities exist throughout the year. Regular recitals are held for those children having individual music lessons both inside and outside of School and we have participated in the Alderley Edge Music Festival and the Manchester Cathedral Schools’ Christmas Concert on multiple occasions.
Additional peripatetic music lessons are available for students at all ages.
