Life’s A Cabaret

Holden Hall was transformed into Cheadle Hulme School’s very own KitKat Klub when the curtain went up on the Senior School production of Cabaret.
Running from Wednesday 25th until Saturday 28th November, a live audience consisting students, staff and their families took their seats around tables as Senior School and Sixth Form students performed an array of music, song, dance, recitation and drama.
Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, recalling the 1972 film starring Liza Minnelli, the cast sang songs including ‘Wilkommen’, ‘Don’t Tell Mama’ and ‘Money’ to a live soundtrack performed by Cheadle Hulme School’s musicians on piano, brass and woodwind.
Show Director, Ms Clare Harms, who first directed Cabaret at the School in November 2001 said: “It felt about time we revisited this thought-provoking show… the underlying theme of a world in flux seemed somehow relevant so it was only right to direct these wonderful songs and characters once again.”
