Sixth Form Pathways Curriculum

Introduction to the Pathways Curriculum

The Sixth Form Pathways aim to meet the needs of students with specific career ambitions and provide our students with the skills, experiences and aspirations needed to succeed in a competitive world of work.

Students wishing to follow one of our pathways will be given valuable opportunities to gain skills, knowledge and work experience that is directly linked to their chosen pathway.

Each specialised ‘pathway’ will be overseen by a specific teacher, who will ensure that the components work effectively together and monitor student participation and feedback. Each student’s enrichment programme will be designed specifically to meet their needs. We have also involved parents and Old Waconians in planning, delivery and monitoring; thereby creating a ‘team’ who will be actively engaging with the students and ensuring that the activities meet their needs.

We do not expect that all students will be on a specific pathway and many may continue to be on the Core Pathway which keeps their options open.
