Cheadle Hulme School offers a small number of scholarships each year in recognition of outstanding performance or potential in a given area. Scholarships are non-means tested and offer a discount of up to 25% of the annual school fee. All awards are made at the discretion of the Governing Body.
A Sports Scholarship is awarded to a pupil who demonstrates outstanding sporting potential in a major sport in which the School competes. Students will demonstrate excellent athletic ability and commitment to their sport. Ability in the major team games Netball, Football, Hockey, Rugby and Cricket would be advantageous, but other sports offered at the School including Athletics, Cross-Country, Swimming, Badminton and Tennis will also be considered.
High Performance Programme - Sport:
A limited number of places are offered to pupils to participate in our High Performance Programme in Sport. This specialist programme provides additional developmental opportunities and bespoke support to pupils who demonstrate significant potential on the Assessment Day. The programme is individualised for each pupil. They will receive a mentor and a variety of specialist advice with attention given to strength and conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition, training diaries and career opportunities within sport. The School is incredibly proud of the success of the programme and the achievements of many of the sports scholars, including national honours.
Offers of awards are subject to pupils passing the Senior School Entrance Exam or being offered a place in Sixth Form AND showing exceptional promise or achieving a high level of performance in their sport. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute significantly to School sport in at least two disciplines, representing the School as required and attending all team practices. Failure to show the required level of commitment could lead to the withdrawal of the Scholarship or place on the High Performance Programme.
