What is a Waconian?

The term ‘Waconian’ is a remnant of Cheadle Hulme School's original name, The Manchester Warehousemen and Clerks' Orphan Schools. CHS pupils and staff are Waconians by definition.

The educational experience offered by CHS instils pupils with a set of core values which chime with the values of the original founders of the School in 1855. Keeping these values at their heart, the academic curriculum, pastoral care system and co-curricular programme all work together to harness every pupil's potential.
