We are looking for individuals who are not just academically strong but also bring interesting perspectives and ambition. We believe in seizing every opportunity, and we want students who are enthusiastic about making the most of what our school has to offer.
Each year a number of students join our Sixth Form who quickly integrate into the year group through induction activities and social events, as well as a dedicated mentor to provide support and advice throughout their journey.

Sixth Form Financial Assistance
Apply now
We recognise that the transition into Sixth Form is an important milestone in a young person’s academic journey and we are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent talented students from accessing this opportunity.
A number of Sixth Form bursaries are available to support students entering Year 12, designed to help families who might otherwise find the cost of fees prohibitive. Awards are means-tested and offered on the basis of both financial need and academic potential, reflecting our belief that every student with the ability and aspiration to thrive here should be able to do so.
In addition to fee support, Sixth Form bursary recipients may be eligible for assistance with essential school-related costs such as uniform, a digital device and contributions towards educational trips, helping to ensure that each student can fully participate in all aspects of Sixth Form life.
Please indicate on the application form if you are interested in applying for Financial Assistance. A member of the Admissions Team will be in touch with further information.
Entry Requirements
how to apply
Our experience in recent years suggests that in order to be comfortable with the academic pace of A Level study at CHS students require an attainment level equivalent to 56 points (from 9 subjects) in their GCSE exams. Subjects graded 9-1 are allocated points equal to the number grade awarded. We use this as a guide to suitability, not an immovable requirement.
In addition to points, we look for a student’s proven commitment to academic study and Sixth Form subject choices.
We are happy to offer advice regarding subject combinations during your interview. All offers of places to join the Sixth Form will be conditional on final GCSE results in the August preceding entry and a positive School report.
