Your Personal Information and Privacy

We understand how important your personal information is to you and we take the safeguarding of your privacy very seriously.  To show our commitment to letting you know exactly what information we are collecting about you, how we are using it and how we are keeping it secure – we have updated our data protection policy and procedures to reflect the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018. We have also reviewed our fair processing notices so that you can stay up-to-the-minute with the use of your personal information.

NHS Contact tracing

To support the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) response, CHS will engage with the NHS Test and Trace process to manage confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and contain any outbreak amongst the CHS community.  To support us with this we will keep a record of pupils and staff in school, including any close contact that takes place.   Information collected for this purpose will be retained for no longer than is required, it will be kept secure and will only be accessible to those who need it.  Contact information will be shared when it is requested by a legitimate public health authority.

As a provider of a swimming pool and other indoor sport facilities used by external sport clubs, we require our hirers to collect contact details from their staff, customers, and visitors – this information will not be shared with the School.

CHS will display the official NHS QR code poster on site so that visitors can check-in using the official NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app.

Privacy Notices

When you join the School or even just visit our website, we need to ask you for some personal information. Our Privacy Notices explain why we need this information, what we do with it and how long we keep it for.  Depending on your relationship with the School at the time, you may fall into one or more of the following categories:

These Privacy Notices will be kept up-to-date as further GDPR guidance is issued. From time to time we may need to change what information we collect or who it is shared with, but don’t worry – we will never do anything with your information which you wouldn’t expect us to.

COVID-19 Outbreak Arrangements for the Use of Images and Recordings

During this time of providing an online education in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the School is making use of video conferencing to continue to delivery a high quality education and care service. Video conferencing may take place in the form of pre-recorded videos, or live video conferencing and details will be provided through the Remote Learning Procedures.  Given the extraordinary circumstances, the use of video calling may also be offered to the wider community who engage with us. The School’s policies in relation to storage, access and retention of recordings continue to apply.

For reference:

Student data is collected through the School by awarding bodies for conducting examinations and assessments and the issuing of examination results and certificates. We work with the following bodies:
