Academic

“The high academic standards promoted in the Senior School are reflected in pupils’ success in public examinations.  Pupils of all abilities develop skills, knowledge and understanding to a high standard across a wide range of subjects.” – ISI Inspection, April 2017

A challenging, dynamic and relevant education

Our priority is to provide a challenging, dynamic and relevant education for every pupil, enabling them to fulfil their potential and prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Our belief is that long term success for all our pupils lies in individual effort, active engagement and collaborative learning.
Around the core subjects, there are numerous opportunities for Waconians to develop their skills whilst discovering new passions. Whether working individually, in pairs or part of a large group, the emphasis is on flexibility, building skills and developing confidence in every learner.

Enriched Learning

We positively challenge pupils in ways that raise their academic achievement. This enables them to be the best they can be, expand their aptitudes and interests, develop their self-confidence and strengthen their social skills.

Success on the stage, in a concert, through co-curricular competitions or on the sports field all play a part in the development of pupils and their sense of personal achievement.

Our unique Lower School Curriculum enables pupils to use the skills they are developing in all their subjects, make connections between the different subjects and explore their contribution to some important issues they will be tackling in the years ahead.
