CHS has always been a community shaped by generosity, from its founding in 1855 to today. Support from Old Waconians, parents and friends helps us open doors and ensure the School continues to reflect the world beyond its gates.

Every gift makes a difference to individual students and to the whole CHS community.

Our ambition is to increase the number of students supported through bursaries from 1 in 11 to 1 in 6.

Our current priority is the 1 in 6 Campaign, our commitment to widening access and strengthening the diversity of our community.

We believe a strong community is one where every young person, regardless of background has the chance to thrive.

Our 1 in 6 campaign reflects this belief, aiming to widen access to a CHS education through means-tested bursaries and to ensure our student body continues to reflect a broad range of talents, perspectives and life experiences.

Regular giving is one of the most powerful ways to support the 1 in 6 Campaign, helping to ensure that access and opportunity remain at the heart of CHS for generations to come.

Since CHS was founded, legacies have played a central role in the development of our school and the lives of its people. From buildings, equipment, student prizes, opportunities and bursaries, legacy donations have helped make CHS and our community what it is today.

A legacy gift, of any size, is a powerful expression of belief in the values of CHS and in the long-term impact of education. Such gifts play an important role in strengthening our bursary provision and ensuring the sustainability of the 1 in 6 Bursary Campaign.

Mentoring & Careers Support

Work with students through our Sixth Form pathways and careers programme, offering insight into your profession, supporting applications, or sharing your journey.

Talks & Events

Take part in events such as Let’s Chat Careers Panels or Beyond CHS Lecture Series careers panels, helping students understand the breadth of opportunities available to them.

Work Experience and Opportunities

Provide placements, shadowing opportunities or internships that give students a real insight into the world of work.

Old Waconian and Parent Engagement

Support the growth of our Old Waconian and parent networks, helping to build a connected, supportive community for current and future students.
