“The majority of pupils leaving the School after Sixth Form progress to their first choice of university, often gaining entry to universities that have rigorous academic entry requirements.” ISI Inspection, April 2017
Sixth Form
The Sixth Form experience is a dynamic one. Students explore new interests, rise to the challenge of leadership and relish the academic rigour and pastoral care that will prepare them for university and beyond.
Greater independence and personal responsibility, a more flexible timetable and a growing focus on life beyond CHS means that students move on from being children to young adults, making new friends and forming lasting relationships. They bring energy, leadership and creativty with them and make their mark on the School’s legacy.
Broadening Horizons and Independent Learning
Students are encouraged to explore their interests through extension classes and in-depth projects such as the UCAS-recognised Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), alongside their chosen courses. Smaller classes enable students to engage wholeheartedly with their subjects and receive tailored advice regarding future choices beyond CHS.
Our dedicated Sixth Form Centre provides students with the space they need to develop their independent working skills, as well as facilitating collaborative and project work. The contemporary, light and spacious building features a large independent area, spaces for both project work and silent study as well as a café and covered outdoor eating space.
