Finance FAQs: Joining CHS

To register your child at CHS, a registration fee of £65 is applicable. This is a non-refundable fee payable at the time of registration, irrespective of the year of entry. There is no financial assistance available for this fee.

Once offered, the registration cannot be secured until we are in receipt of the signed Acceptance Form and cleared deposit.

Please complete our online registration form which can be found under our Admissions section.  At the end of the form, there will be a link which will allow you to pay the £65 registration fee.

Once your child’s place has been confirmed, the Finance Office will email your activation codes for Parentpay a few weeks before the start of the academic year.

Parentpay is a third party system which allows you to pay for fees, trips and other items electronically.

Once your place is confirmed and accepted, a £500 deposit per student is payable.  This deposit is returned without interest when your child leaves CHS. There is no financial assistance available for this deposit.

Fees and Charges

Cheadle Hulme School strongly prefers payment using a Direct Debit for fee payments. The Direct Debit form is available here or you can request a form from Finance@chschool.co.uk

The fee is an annual fee which is split over three invoices that coincide with the start of each term.  Fees must be paid in full before the first day of term, via Direct Debit or bank transfer. Please contact the finance office for bank details.

You can set up a Direct Debit to spread the cost over 10 months (the Direct Debit must start in September).

The fees cover all tuition and exam entrance costs with the exception of a Food & Nutrition charge when the students take this subject in Year 8.  Additional costs are listed below.

  • Uniform
  • Lunches – recorded daily using a ‘thumb print’ at a fixed cost per lunch
  • Digital Device – Senior School & Sixth Form only
  • Trips (including the Year 7 residential)
  • Buses
  • After School costs for Infant/Junior School (PS, I&J)

Financial Assistance

We offer Financial Assistance for pupils joining our Senior School and Sixth Form. Applications take into account academic performance, performance at interview and awards are made to those children who are considered likely to gain the most from receiving their education at CHS.

The application for financial assistance is separate to, but runs alongside the application to join the school and registration for the entrance exam, and has the same deadline as the main application process each year.  Full details of how to apply and guidance notes can be found here.

The Financial Assistance application form should be completed in full and returned to the Finance Office with full supporting documentation on or before the deadline.  If you require any assistance completing the form, please contact the Finance Team finance@chschool.co.uk / 0161 488 3340.

Applications are fully assessed and awards are offered following the entrance exam in January and subsequent interviews.

Depending on your award, you may be entitled to a financial contribution by the school towards uniform and a digital device.

As a guide, if your household income is below £90,000 and your total family assets are £450,000 or less, you may be eligible for an award.  If you receive an award, the level of support is assessed each year and is based on the detailed financial information provided.

Any applications received after the deadline may not be considered.
