Last week, two of our Netball teams secured National titles at the Sisters in Sport National Finals in Loughborough.
Our Senior 1st squad competed for the U18 National Plate, showcasing determination from their first game. It was a close semi-final, in which they secured a 24-21 victory over Samuel Whitbread Academy to earn their place in the final.
The final was a milestone match, marking their first National Title for our six Year 13 players. They delivered their best performance of the season to secure a 27-18 win over St John’s, Leatherhead.
The success continued with our U16 squad, who entered the National Cup as defending champions. After winning 29-14 in the semi-final over Parkstone Grammar, they were ready for the final against a strong Yarm side.
The final was a nail-biter, with the defences on both teams on top form. With the scores level heading into the final seven minutes, the U16s showed why they have dominated this competition for years, playing a perfect final quarter to secure a 22-19 victory. This win marks an amazing fourth consecutive national title for this age group.
Mrs Bebbington, Co-Director of Sport, said, “To see two squads win the national competition on the same day is a proud moment for CHS.” Congratulations to all the players and the coaching staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the season!
