Senior School Assessment

We are an academically selective school that also values a well-rounded education and strong commitment to its Waconian Values. Admission to the Senior School is based on performance in an Entrance Exam and an interview, as well as references from the pupil’s current school.

The Entrance Exam includes online assessments in Mathematics, English, Non-Verbal, and Verbal reasoning, plus a creative writing task. Candidates who perform well in the exam will be invited for an interview. This interview allows us to learn about the pupil’s character, interests and potential to contribute to the school community. Finally, we request references from the applicant’s Junior School, focusing on character and work ethic.

An invitation to interview does not guarantee a place; offers are made only after the interview stage is complete.

Wraparound Care

Before and after School provision is available in the Senior School from 7.30am. Breakfast is also supervised in the Dining Hall from 8am.

After School, pupils are supervised until 6pm and can use all of the facilities, including the ICT areas, with filtered internet access. There is no charge for this facility. There are also many co-curricular clubs available for pupils to participate in.
