CHOOSE CHS

Join the Class of 2033

Congratulations on your performance in our Entrance Examination and your recent interview. We are delighted to offer you a place at CHS and very much hope you will join us in September as a member of the Class of 2033.

We know that choosing the right senior school is an important decision for families. This page has been designed to give you a deeper insight into life at CHS, from the academic challenge and pastoral care to the breadth of opportunities that shape every Waconian’s journey.

We would be delighted to welcome you back to school for a post-offer tour, where you can experience life at CHS  for yourself and meet members of teaching staff.

To see school life in action, you can also follow us on Instagram and browse our online gallery to get a real sense of what’s been happening across the school.

Co-Curricular Activities

Our co-curricular programme has something for everyone, from Model United Nations and chess club to musical theatre, yoga and F1 in Schools. Our Waconians are busy!

In our recent ISI Inspection, our co-curricular  programme  was rated a significant strength of our school.

Mr Wilson, Director of co-curricular programme “The wide opportunities in Sport, Music and Performing Arts are prominent on the radar of many as they enter our School but I am delighted that more and more pupils are broadening their co-curricular diet to include academic co-curricular activities.”

Year 7 Timetable

A TYPICAL DAY FOR YEAR 7 WACONIANS

What does a typical day look like for Year 7 Waconians?

Our Year 7 timetable is carefully balanced to ensure a smooth transition from primary school.

All lessons and timetables are made with our Waconian Programme in mind, right the way from Junior School to Sixth Form. Take a look at our Waconian Programme Path here.

Use the link below to see how we structure our two-week timetable to keep pupils fresh and engaged from Monday through to Friday.

Food at CHS

Our Dining Hall offers a wide range of freshly prepared, nutritious meals each day, giving students plenty of choice at lunchtime.

From hot main dishes and traditional roasts to a well-stocked salad bar and regular international themed menus, there is something to suit all tastes. For those who prefer something quicker between activities, our Underpass provides convenient ‘grab and go’ options.

You can view a sample menu below to see the variety on offer.

Travelling to CHS

CHS is easily accessible, however you choose to travel and we offer private school bus routes covering a wide catchment area.

Many of our students catch the train to CHS, with the closest train station being only a 12-minute walk away. Or for those walking or cycling, we have secure facilities on-site.

School Trips

The CHS experience doesn’t stop at the school gates. Our trips and residentials are carefully designed to build independence, resilience and global awareness, giving students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom.

For Year 7, the adventure begins early. Within the first half-term, pupils take part in an outward bound residential, an important shared experience that helps each form and the wider year group bond and build friendships.

You can explore our upcoming trips schedule below to see where a CHS education could take you.
