Travelling to CHS

Ways to Travel to CHS
Parking at CHS is limited and local roads get congested, so we strongly encourage you to consider sustainable travel options instead of driving.
This helps reduce congestion, protects the environment, and should be your first choice. Please think of driving as a last resort.
School Buses - Elite Bus Service
We recommend the home-to-school coach service, run independently by Elite Services, for most Senior pupils.
To find your nearest pick-up, view the Home School Transport Routes here.
For routes and timetables, click here.
For bookings and enquiries, please contact Elite directly via their website or call their school transport team at 0161 480 0617.
Travelling by Train
Cheadle Hulme railway station is on the Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent rail lines and is approximately a 12-minute walk away from School.
CHS participates in the annual educational season ticket scheme, which offers up to 50% discount on term-time train tickets through Northern Rail. The stations included in this are Wilmslow, Poynton, Prestbury, Heaton Chapel and Manchester Piccadilly.
Walking or Cycling
An active lifestyle is at the core of school life and many pupils walk, scoot and cycle to school. The inner school campus is pedestrian friendly and vehicle free to allow pupils, staff and visitors to walk around school safely and efficiently.
Cycle park facilities are available to encourage sustainable travel for younger pupils and siblings.
Public Buses
A number of public service buses also operate in the local area, the nearest public bus stops are on Church Road and Gillbent Road which is a 4 1/2 minute walk from the School Lane entrance.
By Car
We would ask that you try to consider alternative modes of transport to driving and only drive if there is no suitable alternative, and that you continuously review this decision to ensure that you minimise the parking and driving issues around the school.
Pupil drop off and pick up is at our School Lane entrance (SK8 6LY).
