After a nail-biting wait over the Easter break, we are delighted to share some outstanding sporting news from the tennis court. George (Year 9) has been selected for the Cheshire U14 County Team. He is one of only six players to be chosen to represent the county at the upcoming National County Cup in Leicestershire this May.
George’s selection is a testament to many years of grit and progression within the county system. Cheshire is renowned for its immense depth of talent in tennis, making his inclusion in the final squad a significant milestone. George trains up to four times a week which he combines with football and school commitments.
Beyond the junior circuit, George has also been competing for the Alderley Edge men’s teams which has seen his form soar recently, with his national ranking currently chasing a spot in the top 100.
As a school community, we couldn’t be prouder and we wish George and the rest of the Cheshire team the very best of luck in Leicestershire next month. We’ll be rooting for you!
