Celebrating the Class of 2026: Ready for what comes next.

There is plenty to celebrate today as Year 11 students collect their GCSE results.

Behind every set of grades is a different story from subjects discovered, challenges overcome, friendships formed and opportunities embraced and for many, a growing sense of what they might want their future to look like. Today is a chance to celebrate all of that.

71% of all grades were awarded at 9-7 with 48% 9-8. 26 students achieved exclusively grades 9 and 8.

Students celebrated some outstanding individual achievements, including Francesca who secured an exceptional ten grade 9s.

Five students achieved nine grade 9s (Emma, Matthew, Emily,  Oliver and Preeya and Alexandros, who also achieved an additional grade 8).

A further six students secured eight grade 9s plus a grade 8 (Diyana, Henry, Ethan, Sebastian, Jainam and James).

There was success beyond the core GCSE programme too. Four students chose to study Greek GCSE in addition to their timetabled subjects, with all four achieving grades 8 or 9.

Head, Lee Richardson: “GCSE results are an important milestone and our students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. What makes me particularly proud is the young people behind those results who have contributed enormously to this community and developed as individuals during their time in senior school. As they move into Sixth Form or take their next steps elsewhere, we want them to remain curious about the world and ready to make something of the opportunities ahead”

For many of the year group, the next step will be CHS Sixth Form which will bring greater independence and choice, new academic and vocational opportunities and the chance to begin shaping a programme around their own ambitions and interests.

Nick Axon, Deputy Head, Academic: “There are some exceptional results to celebrate today, a reflection of the hard work and commitment this year group has shown to their studies, supported throughout by their teachers. They have managed that while continuing to contribute enormously to the wider life of CHS. That balance of academic ambition with a willingness to participate, contribute and pursue other interests is something we value enormously as a School. Congratulations Year 11”.

Among those celebrating today were members of CHS’s U16 netball team, who added their GCSE results to an already memorable year after being crowned national champions.
