A Lifelong Community

Being an Old Waconian means you’re part of a vibrant, lifelong community connected by shared experiences and a rich history.

We are incredibly proud of our alumni and love to hear about your achievements since leaving CHS.

connect. contribute. celebrate

Every former pupil and staff member automatically becomes an Old Waconian, a name that honours our school’s founding as The Warehousemen and Clerks’ Orphan Schools in 1855.

Join our dedicated CHS Community platform to reconnect with former classmates, find out about our events, explore opportunities to give back, join our Old Waconian mentoring programme and stay updated on all things CHS.

From expertise to opportunities

give back and volunteer

Our CHS community is rich with talent, knowledge, and experience, thanks to our dedicated Old Waconians and parents. Whether you have an hour to spare or a week to dedicate, your contribution can profoundly impact our current pupils and Early Career Old Waconians, helping them explore future pathways and develop vital skills.

Old Waconian Awards

Celebrating impact and contribtuion

Each year, we proudly shine a spotlight on the incredible accomplishments of our former pupils and staff through the Old Waconian Awards. These awards are our way of recognising the outstanding contributions you make, not only in your chosen fields but also to the vibrant CHS community and beyond.

Giving back to help the next generation of Waconians

bursary campaign

From funding life-changing bursaries to mentoring current pupils, Old Waconians have always played a vital role in shaping the future of CHS.

Many choose to give back by supporting bursaries, opening the door to a CHS education for talented young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

“CHS gave me opportunities I could never have imagined — supporting bursaries is my way of making sure the same is possible for the next generation.”

Our 1 in 6 campaign builds on this tradition, aiming to increase the number of pupils on bursary places from 1 in 11 to 1 in 6 by 2030.
