First ever Junior School Librarians appointed

In a bid to continue to give pupils more responsibility throughout the Junior School, we now have librarians in the Junior School and have continued with our Library Magicians in the Infants. Today the new librarians were announced.

Pupils in Y5 and 6 were given the opportunity to write a job application for the role before Christmas. 8 librarians were appointed today and given their new badges in assembly.

They will be responsible for running book clubs, organising the library, working as book buddies for the younger children, ordering and selecting new books, recommending reads to other pupils and developing the outdoor reading area further.

Mrs Beckwith said: “This is a very exciting step in continuing to encourage regular discussion between pupils about what they are reading and in giving pupils more ownership of their library and reading zones.”
