Meet Lyn!
As part of our series, Behind the CHScenes, we’re chatting with non-teaching Staff around CHS who are often busy keeping everything running smoothly! Let’s learn a little more about what Lyn gets up to during a typical summer holiday…
You’ve not long since started at CHS, how are you finding it?
Good! Everywhere works very differently, so I’m just getting to grips with the way things are done here, and hopefully I’ll be able to use my experience to improve some processes and ways of working.
What do you get up to in your free time?
I enjoy yoga, reformer pilates and I love swimming, so I make sure to go open water swimming every weekend! I’ve got a three year old spaniel who likes loads of attention. I also meet up with my friends for meals, trips to the cinema, and book group.
What motivates you?
Doing the best I can to support my family.
How’s your Summer going so far?
I spent a week in Croatia at the start of July which was lovely. My eldest son and daughter also recently graduated from Newcastle University and University of Liverpool respectively, so I had two graduations in one week! I’m also busy organising my daughters 21st birthday party this summer.
If you could tell your younger self anything, what would it be?
You are better than you think you are!
Could you tell us a little about what your typical day looks like?
Normally I’m sorting out problems and queries whilst trying to make sure various deadlines are met and that the accounts are correct. I’m also spending a lot of time training on our new finance system and ensuring that everything is ready for the new academic year.
