Altruistic students ran 10km for Gambia project

On Sunday some of our active students ran the Wilmslow 10kkm to raise money for the school we support in The Gambia.

Those that ran the 10km will be visiting the school in The Gambia in December to help out.

As a school, we have funded Cheadle Hulme School in The Gambia which students visit every couple of years. The money raised helps provide essentials like stationary, uniform, furniture and footballs as well as helping to buy paint which students will use to paint the school’s new extension with them.

Ahead of the race, Upper Sixth Former Rosie said: “We are nervous, but excited to do the race as a group to cheer each other on. We’re also looking forward to being able to raise the money for such a good cause so looking forward to being able to say we’ve completed it.”

The run was a challenge for some of the students as it was their first 10km.

Speaking about the upcoming trip Rosie said: “We are very excited to be able to give back and hopefully make a difference to the less fortunate. However, we know it’s going to be an emotionally challenging, but rewarding week”

Well done to all that completed the 10km!
