Celebrating the Class of 2024
The sun shone last Friday as we said farewell to the Class of 2024.
Parents, staff and friends came together as our Upper Sixth students took to the stage to receive their certificates and awards, with a number of students picking up special prizes for their achievements within subjects and co-curricular clubs.
Head pupils Maya, Jonathan and Naisha spoke fondly to their classmates about their time at CHS, expressing thanks to the entire community for all of the support they’ve received over their time as Waconians.
“The people that we have had the privilege of knowing, have unknowingly prepared us for everything to come…as the saying goes, ‘It’s not what you do, it’s who you’re doing it with.’”
“As we take these next steps, whether university, apprenticeships or our talents elsewhere, we become Old Waconians. The CHS journey has ended tonight, our horizons have just widened. As we spread across the globe, I just hope that you all take a little bit of the life of this school with you.”
CHS Head, Mr Lee Richardson said: “I know that you will look back on your time here with great fondness and that today will generate many mixed emotions. I know that you are all more than ready to take on the world in whatever way you choose.”
“I encourage you to embrace every opportunity, explore new horizons, and never forget the values that have shaped you.”
The class enjoyed taking photos and chatting together outside the Sixth Form Centre, before heading to their Leaver’s meal.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 – we will see you on results day!
