CHS Hockey players have been selected for Futures Cup

It looks like our hockey players had a brilliant summer.

Libby McCoy, Caitlin Polley, Ella Partington, Felix Tully and James Parkin have been selected for the prestigious tournament where they will gain an insight into what it is like to live like a full time athlete.

The tournament is of excellent standard with players from all over Great Britain playing and it looks like our hockey players will be well looked after with professional support from physiotherapists, nutritionists, sports psychologists, sports analysts and more.

Caitlin Polley has had a fantastic summer playing for England U16s and scoring lots of goals. On the 5th of September she also found out the excellent news that she has been selected to attend the U18s National squad training a year young.

Felix Tully and James Parkin (right) played for the Pennine Pumas who lost to Mercia Lynx in the final in the Futures Cup. Both boys have also been selected to attend the U16s National squad training.

Ella Partington recently represented England in the annual School Games which took place at the University of Loughborough over the first weekend of September. The games see 1,400 young, elite athletes competing across 11 sports and allow future sports stars to experience a large, multi-sport event, often for the first time. Many of the current Gold medallists have previously been involved in School Games success.

A huge congratulation to all involved! A great start to the Hockey season.
