CHS OneFifty is Given a Splash of Urban Colour

This year we are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the main building. The artwork for the campaign is by a contemporary artist known for his colourful depictions of football grounds.

Jamie B Edwards, who works under the Urban Colours brand, was commissioned by the school to produce the artworks in his trademark graphic style.

One – titled The Main Building (pictured right) – has already sold out, but two additional images, called The Green Door and The Rooftops are still available in limited numbers.

Jamie, a father of two who lives in Lymm, said: “The school has so many inspiring locations, it was very hard to decide which aspects I was going to work with.

“But after a number of recces, I narrowed my subject matter down to the Main Building, its soaring rooftops and of course the iconic Green Door – the gateway to learning.

“I very much enjoyed my time spent at the school and hope that students, parents and Old Waconians alike enjoy my representations of what is a very special place”.

All of Jamie’s exclusive prints for CHS measure 12.5cmx12.5cm. They are available ready mounted and framed, with the final package measuring 30cmx30cm.

Other local scenes featured in Jamie’s work include Dunham Massey, Tatton Park, Quarry Bank Mill and King Street, Oldham Street and the law courts in Manchester city centre.

Last year, Jamie published a book called Drawing The 92, which features pictures of each of the 92 Football League grounds, including of course City and United.

Jamie’s limited edition prints of CHS cost £50 each and are only available from the CHS online shop.
