CHS Race To The Finish Line At F1 in Schools Final

CHS’s F1 in Schools teams have discovered the formula for STEM success, winning 3 awards in the national competition’s Northern Regional Final!

Racing towards the 2021 finish line, CHSwift and Velocita pitted against other schools to put themselves in pole position by gaining points across a variety of areas from marketing to engineering.

Year 12 team, CHSwift were awarded the Judges Choice Award for “real enterprise in making contact with influential people like Susie Woolf and Max Verstappen” and a Star Quality Pit Design Award with the judges saying; “we were bowled over; it was the real quality that stood out… amazing engagement with the task and a credit to the hard work that has been put into the submission. A deserved winner standing head and shoulders above the competition.”

Year 10 team Velocita were recognised for their verbal skills and won the Star Quality Verbal Presentation Award with the judges commenting; “All members have exceptional public speaking skills and successfully showed their passion, energy and enthusiasm for the project in their talk. Great work in the fields of women in STEM and engineering, and incorporation of sponsors in addition to the networking experiences – it’s just tick, tick, tick”.

Well done CHSwift and Velocita!
