Congratulations Class of 2023: A Level Results Are In

The future looks bright for CHS’ Class of 2023 who are now looking forward to their next steps having excelled in their A Level, Pre U and BTEC studies.

Despite not sitting formal GCSE examinations due to the pandemic, a record number of students met either their first choice or insurance offers, including those who were offered places by University of Oxford and University of Cambridge.

Among those celebrating was Max who secured 4 A*s in Chemistry, Economics, Maths and Further Maths. Max is now heading to London School of Economics to study Finance.

Leading by example, Head pupils Alyssa, Josh and Tash are all attending their firm University choices. Alyssa gained 3 A*s and 1 A and is studying Human, Social, and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge. Josh also secured 3 A*s and 1 A and is studying Mathematics at the University of Bristol. Tash gained 3 As which is leading her to the University of Sheffield to study Biomedical Science with an Industrial Placement Year.

The class of 2023 saw 74.4% of all entries were awarded A*-B grade, along with every student who studied French, German, Music, and Latin achieved either an A*, A or B grade.

As well as those opting to work and gain experience through gap years or embarking upon sought-after apprenticeships, many other students will be looking forward to starting their lives as Old Waconians at leading universities including the London School of Economics (LSE), Durham University, University of York, and University of Bristol.

“We are really proud of all of the hard work which our students have put in during their Sixth Form studies.” – CHS Head, Mr Neil Smith

CHS athletes put in a top performance too, with a continued run of outstanding results in the BTEC Sport Extended Diploma. They were awarded grades ranging from Distinction* and Distinction Distinction (equivalent to A* and AA at A Level) to Distinction Distinction Merit (equivalent to AAC).
