Fierce Competition for CHS Girls At National Hockey Finals

CHS’s active U14s girls’ hockey team travelled to London’s Olympic hockey venue, Lee Valley for a fierce day of competition in the National Schools Finals, which consisted of the Top 8 schools in the country.

They started the day in a match against eventful runners up, St Georges and had the majority of the possession. With their opposition putting on the pressure CHS couldn’t quite convert in the D and conceded 3 goals on the counter attack.

Showing resilience, the girls took to their next game against Marlborough College and whilst it was a tough encounter, they fought hard and finished the game with a draw – meaning they needed a win against Trent College to progress out of the group.

Whilst the bronze medallist-winning team showed their class and beat CHS 1 – 0 the girls enjoyed the experience and it was an exciting end to CHS’s hockey season.

CHS Head if Hockey, Mr Jamie Henderson said: “The girls should be immensely proud to have competed at such a competitive and prestigious tournament.”
