French exchange visit strengthens bonds with Lycée Richelieu

CHS recently welcomed students and teachers from esteemed partner school, Lycée Richelieu in Paris.

Following CHS’s enriching trip to the Parisian school in October 2022, it was now time for pupils from Lycée Richelieu to experience the Waconian way!

During the visit, the French students immersed themselves in CHS life, attending lessons in various subjects such as Physics, History and Economics. They were greatly impressed by CHS’s comprehensive Co-Curricular programme, state-of-the-art sporting facilities, and the warm supportive relationships fostered between our dedicated teachers and pupils. Of course, the group also enjoyed the delicious meals served in the Dining Hall!

The highlight of the visit was an engaging open forum Q&A session, where pupils from both schools participated in thought-provoking discussions on topics ranging from youth engagement in politics, to the varying emphasis on secularism and multiculturalism in our respective societies.

Mr Oliver Abbott, Head of French at CHS said: “We are incredibly proud of the success of this visit and the ongoing partnership between our school and Lycée Richelieu. The enthusiasm and camaraderie displayed by students and staff alike during this exchange fill us with great optimism for the future of this collaboration. We look forward to many more opportunities to learn from one another, broaden our horizons, and forge lasting friendships across the Channel.
