Head Pupils raise funds during Curry Quiz night
Last week, over 140 parents, pupils and staff came together for Upper Sixth’s Curry & Quiz Leavers Fundraiser.
It’s become tradition that each year, Upper Sixth contributes a leavers gift to the CHS Bursary Fund. This tradition of graduating classes was started by the Class of 2012, and since then each year group has fundraised in different ways.
This year, Head Pupils Maya, Jonathan and Naisha organised a Curry and Quiz event, featuring delicious food and a pub-style quiz, complete with a raffle.
As well as staff, students and parents attending, the event received support from the Old Waconian Community too, as all curries were donated by Old Waconian President, Nik Basran, from The Authentic Food Co.
“After the success of last year’s quiz night we decided to step it up a notch and add a curry into the mix, which was a great hit! The quiz had a variety of really fun rounds put together by members of the council. It was a lot of hard work but it definitely paid off and made for a great night, with just the right amount of competition.
People seemed to love the vibe and there was an exciting raffle which had everyone on the edge of their seats with a range of fantastic prizes. We are delighted to have been able to raise so much money for the bursary fund – the perfect way to give back to the school community as our time here draws to a close.” – Head Pupils
Thank you to everyone who supported the night and made it a success. In total, the event raised more than £2300 for the CHS Bursary Fund.
