Industry Insight for CHS Fashion Students

CHS Art Gold Award Fashion students were treated to a talk by our very own member of CHS Staff, Nicola Pilling!

The Gold Arts award offered by Trinity College London is a QCF Level 3 qualification which is recognised on the UCAS Tariff (16 points on new scale). The course aims to foster a greater appreciation for then Arts within the community and extend students’ knowledge of a variety of art forms.

Nicola, who works in the Exams Office at CHS, spoke to students about life in the fashion business, buying and travelling; as well as the hands-on experience of working within such a fast-paced industry.

CHS Art Textiles and Gold Arts Award teacher Mrs Bennett said: “Nicola’s talk was so informative and gave our fashion students a real taster of the role and experiences of a fashion buyer. Gaining an understanding of the commercial side of fashion is an integral part of the assessment criteria for the Arts Gold Award.”

CHS welcomes any opportunities from the CHS community to talk to pupils about careers within the creative industry – please get in touch if you are interested!
